The Morgan Silver Dollar has a rich history among American coins. First struck in 1878, these coins were produced yearly until 1904. After a break in silver dollar production, the US Mint resumed minting silver dollars in 1921, continuing until the Peace Dollar was introduced in December of that year.
The obverse of the 2024 Morgan Dollar Coin features Lady Liberty, designed by George T. Morgan in 1878. This depiction shows Lady Liberty in a left-profile relief, adorned with a coronet crown and laurel wreath, and wearing a Phrygian cap.
The reverse side of the 2024 Morgan Silver Dollar showcases the heraldic eagle of the United States, also created by George T. Morgan. This design presents the bald eagle in a front-facing relief with wings spread wide. The eagle’s talons hold both the arrows of war and the olive branch of peace.
