The United States Mint reintroduced the iconic Morgan Silver Dollar in 2021 as a commemorative silver coin. Originally minted from 90% silver in 1878, the last Morgan Dollar was issued in 1921. To celebrate the 100th anniversary of that final issue, the US Mint launched the 99.9% pure silver Morgan Silver Dollar in 2021. Coin Highlights:
Morgan Silver Dollars were brought back in 2021 by the United States Mint alongside the Peace Silver Dollar. Both coins are made from .999 pure silver. The 2021 revival of these cherished designs aligns with the 100th anniversary of 1921. That year marked the return of silver dollar minting, which had paused since 1904. The year 1921 saw the final minting of the Morgan Silver Dollars and the first of the Peace Silver Dollars, with the Peace Dollar replacing the Morgan Dollar in December 1921.
All 2024 Morgan Silver Dollar Coins available here are in near-perfect condition. Mint State 69 coins have full, original mint luster and a maximum of two minor flaws. These small imperfections are limited to tiny contact marks or hairlines that are located outside the primary focal points. Early Release coins are those that were received for grading within 30 days of release from the mint.
On the obverse of the 2024 Morgan Dollar Coin is a depiction of Liberty. This left-profile bust was created in 1878 by George T. Morgan. It shows Liberty wearing a coronet crown, a laurel wreath, and a Phrygian cap.
The reverse side of 2024 Morgan Silver Dollars features the heraldic eagle. Also designed in 1878 by George T. Morgan, this image includes a front-facing eagle holding arrows of war and an olive branch of peace in its talons.
