The Chinese zodiac, known as Shengxiao, cycles through 12 animals every 12 years, with each animal representing different traits. The snake, being the sixth sign, returns in 2025, following its last appearance in 2013.
The obverse of the 2025 Australian Silver Lunar Snake features His Majesty King Charles III. This portrait, designed by Dan Thorne, is King Charles III’s debut in the Lunar Series. The left-profile image shows the King without a crown, a style consistent with other Commonwealth coinage.
On the reverse of 2025 1/2 oz Silver Lunar Snake Coins, you’ll find a detailed image of a snake coiled beneath branches and leaves. This design by Sean Rogers captures the snake in a natural setting, with mountains and a body of water visible in the background.
