From 2020 to 2023, the Texas Mint released a special mini-series called the Texas Revolution Series. This series features designs celebrating the Texan victory over Mexico during the Texas Revolution. Today, you can get the Texas Mint Silver Revolution Series 4-Round Sets at BullionMax.
Round Highlights:
Each Texas Mint Silver Revolution Series 4-Round Set from BullionMax includes a presentation booklet that holds the four individual 1 oz silver rounds. The rounds are dated according to the event they represent in the Texas Revolution. The 2020 round shows the Battle of Gonzales, and the 2023 round features the Battle of San Jacinto. The booklet also provides background information on each round’s design.
The Texas Revolution was a major conflict from 1835 to 1836, leading to Texas gaining independence from Mexico. The Goliad Massacre was a tragic event that occurred during the Texas Revolution on March 27, 1836. Following the Battle of Coleto, Texian forces under Colonel James Fannin surrendered to Mexican troops led by General José de Urrea. Despite negotiating terms for their surrender, Fannin and his men were executed on orders from General Antonio López de Santa Anna, in violation of the laws of war and the agreement made with Urrea. Approximately 342 Texian prisoners were marched out of Goliad in three groups and shot by Mexican soldiers.
On the obverse of the Texas Mint Silver Rounds, there is a common design. The background shows a topographical, textured silhouette of Texas with a smooth engraving of the Lone Star imposed over it. The Lone Star is a significant symbol, representing Texas’ history as an independent country.
The reverse of each 1 oz Texas Mint Silver Revolution Round features different designs. In order of release, these rounds include the 2020 Battle of Gonzales, the 2021 Battle of the Alamo, the 2022 Goliad Massacre, and the 2023 Battle of San Jacinto. The order of release matches the sequence of these key events during the Texas Revolution.
