Product Details

At BullionMax, we celebrate the legacy of President Franklin D. Roosevelt, the only U.S. president to serve four terms, navigating the nation through the Great Depression and World War II. His influence lives on in the design of the modern US Dime. Currently, we offer 1970s Franklin D. Roosevelt United States Coins with Torch Reverse in sets of 10.

Coin Highlights:

  • Comes in a presentation box with a Certificate of Authenticity!
  • Features Franklin Dimes from the 1970s!
  • All coins are plated with 24-karat gold!
  • Each bears a face value of $.10 (USD).
  • Obverse showcases President Franklin D. Roosevelt.
  • Reverse features a torch, oak branch, and olive branch.
  • Designed by John R. Sinnock.
  • Please note that matching or varied years are possible.

These sets include 10 individual coins, each displaying the Torch reverse design. Plated with a layer of 24-karat gold, these coins feature Sinnock’s remarkable designs from 1946. Please note that while these coins are all dated from the 1970s, your set may contain varied or matching dates ranging from 1970 to 1979.

John R. Sinnock began his career at the U.S. Mint in 1917 as an assistant engraver. He worked under Chief Engraver George T. Morgan and later served as the Assistant Chief Engraver under Morgan’s successor, John Frederick Lewis. In 1925, Sinnock was appointed as the Chief Engraver of the U.S. Mint, a position he held until his death. In fact, the design of the Roosevelt Dime was one of his last for the US Mint as he passed in 1947.

The obverse of each Roosevelt Dime in this set showcases a left-profile relief of President Franklin D. Roosevelt, created to honor his legacy after his passing in 1945.

On the reverse, you’ll find a striking depiction of a large torch at the center, flanked by an oak branch and an olive branch. Originally, Sinnock’s design featured a hand clutching the torch with intertwined branches, but the final design features all three elements separately.
