Product Details

After President Franklin D. Roosevelt passed away in April 1945, the nation paid tribute to him by featuring his likeness on the US Dime. Crafted by John R. Sinnock, the 8th Chief Engraver of the United States Mint, Roosevelt’s portrait made its debut in 1946, replacing the iconic Mercury Dime. Now, you can find Franklin D. Roosevelt Dimes with the Torch Reverse right here at BullionMax.

Coin Highlights:

  • Includes a presentation box and a Certificate of Authenticity!
  • Complete set comprises 20 coins!
  • Enhanced with 24-karat gold plating!
  • Each coin holds a face value of $.10 (USD).
  • The obverse side features President Franklin D. Roosevelt.
  • The reverse showcases a torch surrounded by oak and olive branches.
  • Meticulously crafted by John R. Sinnock.
  • Please note that the set may contain varying or matching years.

In 1921, at the age of 39, Roosevelt contracted polio, which left him permanently paralyzed from the waist down. Despite his disability, he remained politically active and sought to conceal the extent of his paralysis from the public. He used a wheelchair and leg braces but was careful to avoid being photographed in them whenever possible.

Each of these Franklin D. Roosevelt Dimes boasts the Torch Reverse and is plated with 24-karat gold. We cannot guarantee whether your set will feature varying or matching date marks.

On the obverse, you’ll find a dignified portrait of President Roosevelt, known for his comforting “fireside chats” – radio broadcasts where he spoke directly to the American people during crises such as the Great Depression and World War II.

The reverse design features Sinnock’s portrayal of a lit torch, flanked by olive and oak branches. The olive branch symbolizes peace, while the oak branch signifies strength and achievement.
