On June 6, 1944, D-Day saw the Allied forces launch a massive invasion of Normandy, France, in a bid to turn the tide of World War II. Codenamed Operation Overlord, this meticulously planned operation involved elaborate deception tactics to mislead the German forces about the invasion’s location and timing.

For example, to facilitate the landing of troops and supplies, the Allies constructed artificial harbors known as Mulberry Harbours. These harbors were towed across the English Channel and assembled off the coast of Normandy. French resistance fighters provided valuable intelligence to the Allies and conducted sabotage operations against German forces in the lead-up to D-Day. Their efforts helped weaken German defenses and support the invasion.

The obverse of the $2 World War II D-Day Notes showcases vivid, historic images from the D-Day landings, including the iconic Higgins Landing Craft used to ferry troops ashore during the invasion.

Flipping the $2 D-Day Legal Tender Note reveals the familiar reverse design featuring the signing of the Declaration of Independence, a symbol of American freedom and resilience.

Each $2 World War II D-Day Legal Tender Note comes with a presentation folio and a Certificate of Authenticity, making it a prized addition to any collection.
