Product Details

Palladium is a rare and lustrous silvery-white metal that can be found primarily in Russia, South Africa, and Canada. It was discovered in 1803 by English chemist William Hyde Wollaston in South African crude platinum ore. It’s named after the asteroid Pallas, which was also discovered around the same time. Palladium in the 21st century is primarily used in the production of catalytic converters, jewelry, and now the precious metals market. The production of palladium coins can be traced back to 1966 coming from Sierra Leone. Today, BullionMax is proud to offer you 1 oz Palladium Coins.

Coin Highlights:

  • Available to you in a protective plastic flip!
  • Offered in varied conditions with random date marks!

All of the 1 oz Palladium Coins in this listing are made available to you in varied conditions with random date marks. Coins will be shipped to you in a protective plastic flip. Bullion Max chooses all coins at random once payment has been processed.

Palladium coins are only available from a handful of mints. Most notably, the United States Mint, the Royal Canadian Mint, Perth Mint, Chinese Mint, and Moscow Mint. The first palladium coins can be traced back to Sierra Leone in 1966, however, the first palladium bullion coins can be found with the Moscow Mint in 1989 with their Russian Palladium Ballerina. Other popular examples include the American Palladium Eagle and the Canadian Palladium Maple Leaf.

Obverse images will vary based on the coin program your 1 oz Palladium Coin is released in. For example, the obverse of Canadian Palladium Maple Leaf Coins features an effigy of Queen Elizabeth II. While Russian Ballerina Palladium Coins depict a new image of a ballerina for each date mark.

Similar to the obverse, the reverse field of 1 oz Palladium Coins in this product listing will vary based on the issuing mint and coin program. Canadian Palladium Maple Leaf Coins feature Walter Ott’s 1979 depiction of the maple leaf. Russian Ballerina Palladium Coins however bear the Soviet Union seal of the hammer and sickle.
