Product Details

The Canadian Gold Maple Leaf is Canada’s official gold bullion specimen. A legal tender coin with a face value in Canadian Dollars, the Government of Canada backs the purity and face value of each coin released by the Royal Canadian Mint. The 1/10 oz Canadian Gold Maple Leaf Coin is one of the smallest in the series and is now available to you online from BullionMax.

Coin Highlights:

  • Arrives in a protective plastic flip.
  • Minted since 1982!
  • Contains 1/10 Troy oz of .9999 pure gold in BU condition.
  • Issued a face value of $5 (CAD) by the Canadian government.
  • Obverse bears Queen Elizabeth II’s effigy.
  • Reverse include the sugar maple leaf design.

The Royal Canadian Mint introduced the Canadian Gold Maple Leaf coin in 1979 to offer direct competition to the South African Krugerrand, then the only gold bullion coin available to private investors. Originally, the Gold Maple Leaf was available only in a one-ounce weight with .999 pure gold.

Since November 1982, the series expanded into fractional-weight offerings, including the 1/4 oz and 1/10 oz Canadian Gold Maple Leaf coins. Another significant milestone was the introduction of .9999 pure gold content, which set a new standard for purity in gold coins.

On the obverse of all 1/10 oz Canadian Gold Maple Leaf Coins, you’ll find an effigy of Queen Elizabeth II. The portrait of Queen Elizabeth II varies depending on the year of issue. Coins from 1979 to 1989 feature Arnold Machin’s design, while coins from 1990 to 2003 display Dora de Pedery-Hunt’s depiction. Since 2004, coins feature Susanna Blunt’s design.

The reverse of 1/10 oz Gold Maple Leaf coins showcases the timeless sugar maple leaf design, which has remained the same since the coin’s introduction. Engravings of the nation of issue, purity, metal content, and weight complement the elegant leaf design.

Each 1/10 oz Gold Maple Leaf coin in this listing is in BU condition. While these coins may exhibit minor flaws such as breaks in the luster, spotted surfaces, or contact marks resulting from production, they are free from significant wear and tear.

BullionMax proudly offers these 1/10 oz Canadian Gold Maple Leaf coins in BU condition, providing you with the opportunity to own a piece of Canadian gold bullion history. Please note that the year of issue you’ll receive is subject to availability in our warehouse at the time of order fulfillment.
