That includes the relatively recent silver Philharmonic coin, first introduced in 2008 and which has since claimed a leading position as the premier European coin. The 1 oz Austrian Silver Philharmonic Coin is now available in Brilliant Uncirculated condition from BullionMax.

Coin Highlights:

  • Available in an individual flip-top container, mint tubes of 20 coins, or boxes of 500 coins!
  • Issued since 2008 by the Austria Mint!
  • Contains 1 Troy oz of .999 pure silver.
  • Face value of €1.50 (Euro) is fully backed by the government of Austria.
  • Obverse field features the Musikverein Golden Hall’s Great Organ.
  • Reverse field shows a group of musical instruments.

The Austrian Silver Philharmonic Coin in the listing comes in Brilliant Uncirculated specimens with minor visible flaws or impairments to luster but free of circulation wear. Your purchase may contain coins from a range of years, and no specific year in guaranteed.

Issued by the Austrian Mint, the Austrian Silver Philharmonic coin has become the most popular silver bullion coin program since its inception, and has seen mintages as high as 17.8 million pieces at peak production. Thomas Pesendorfer, the Mint’s chief engraver, originally created the designs on both the obverse and reverse fields in 1989 when it was determined that the signature national collectors’ coin should take the great Vienna Philharmonic as a symbol of Austria’s identity and cultural legacy.

The obverse field features the famous pipe organ found in Vienna’s Musikverein concert hall, home of the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra. The reverse features a group of orchestral musical instruments: the harp and violin, cello and flute, bassoon, and French Horn.
